Kim was a graduate of Vance Senior High and Chowan.He was retired from Universal Leaf North America US, Inc. where he was a Property Accountant Manager.After retirement he moved to Red Oak and became very active in the community and his church, Red Oak Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Director of Baptist Men, and choir member. He was a volunteer with his churchs youth group and mission trips, and also at the In Joy thrift store.Kim loved his family, friends, and his church.He enjoyed the beach, vacations, holidays, and going to see his nieces and nephews play sports.
Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, February 7, 2014, at 11 am at Sunset Gardens by Rev. David Barnett and Rev. Larry Bostian.A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 pm at Red Oak Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Bostian.
He is survived by two step-daughters, Tracy L. Platt and Jennie R. Platt of Richmond, VA; his sister, Pat Barnett and husband, David; brother, Jeff Jones and wife, Sheri, sister-in-law, Becky Jones all of Henderson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Floyd and Jill Robertson of Dunnsville, VA; nieces Lyndsey Jones, Kaitlyn Jones, and Kristy B. Allgood; nephew Davey Barnett and great nephew, Hunter Allgood. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Jones; and a sister Cathy L. Jones of Henderson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times they will be at the home of Pat and David Barnett at 105 Marsha Drive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Oak Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 260, Red Oak, NC27868 or to the Childrens Hospital, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond, VA23220.
