HENDERSON- Alice May Runion Falkner, 82, of Weldon Road, died Friday, March 20, 2026 at Maria Parham Health. Born December 7, 1943 in Middlesex, MA, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Angelette Nealley Runion and Waitman Lee Runion. Alice was an active member of First Baptist Church Henderson. For much of her adult life she was the owner and operator of Lewis Cleaning Service and later was a childcare provider, both in her home and at Kid’s World Daycare. A talented artist, she enjoyed crocheting and ceramic sculpting. Taking great pride in her homemaking, she also was a wonderful baker and enjoyed canning and gardening.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church by Dr. Ron Cava. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
Alice is survived by her husband, Arthur Belmont Falkner of the home; two sons, Jefferey C. Lewis and wife, Amy of Greensboro and Kevin S. Falkner of Gainesville, GA; her daughter, Alison L. Wilson and husband, Larry of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Darrell Wilson and wife, Britany, Dillon Wilson and wife, Melissa, Mackenzie Proctor, Riley Proctor, Deni Lewis, Connor Bartholomew, Isabel Falkner and Elena Falkner; five great-grandchildren, AJ, Adrian, Wyatt, Madilynn and Avery; two sisters, Mary Anderson of Midway, MA and Susan Turner of Peoria, IL; Leah McCusker and her son, Colton, who she considered family; and her beloved dog, “Scooter.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, LTC (Retired) Harry C. “Chuck” Lewis, Jr.; and three brothers, Lee Runion, Bruce Runion and Deane Runion.
The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church Henderson and at other times they will be at the home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Henderson, P.O. Box 75, Henderson, NC 27536.
