Alice Jean Brewer Harris

HENDERSON- Alice Jean Brewer Harris, 88, formerly of Glebe Road, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. Born November 13, 1933 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Edna Parrott Brewer and Eugene C. Brewer and was the widow of the late Clarence Yates “Bubby” Harris, Jr. Alice Jean was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. She retired from Harriet and Henderson Cotton Mills and Crawford Properties. She resided at Brighton Gardens in Raleigh for the past five years. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 21st, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Tony Evans. She is survived by a granddaughter, Lydia Leggett Hatchell and husband, David; sons-in-law, Calvin Leggett and wife, Llewellyn and Barry Frank and wife, Kathy; a niece, Chippy Leigh Kinnard and husband, Steve; and a nephew, Chris Brewer and wife, Lisa. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Eugenia Leggett Frank and her brother, Amos C. Brewer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poplar Creek Baptist Church, 1371 Poplar Creek Road, Henderson, NC 27537 or Duke Children’s Development, 710 W.
