MANSON-Alton Gene Curtis, Sr., age 77, a resident of 342 Burchette Road, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at his home.Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on January 29, 1934, he was the son of the late Thomas T. Curtis and Grace Paschall Curtis.He was an employee of Waste Industries where he had worked for 30 years.Mr. Curtis was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AMatZion United Methodist Church by the
Rev. Bob Rose.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Geraldine Paschall Curtis of the home; one son, Alton Gene Curtis,
Jr. and wife, Melinda of Manson; two sisters, Polly C. Lilley of Williamston, NC and Ella C. Hobbs of Mt. Olive, NC; and one grandson, Brandon Curtis.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Lee Kearson, Wayne Meadows, Robby Paschall, Billy Williams, Danny Fleming, Lee Bodenhamer, Randy Curtis, Gilbert Jefferson, Scotty Morgan and Benny Meadows.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o May Thurber, 585 Manson Drewry Road, Manson, NC 27553.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home of Henderson.
