Alvis Rigsbee Jr

HENDERSON-Alvis Rigsbee Jr., 80, a resident of Briggs Road, passed away Thursday July 3, 2025 at his home. Born December 30, 1944 in Durham County he was the son of the late Alvis Rigsbee Sr. and Millie Kirby Rigsbee. Alvis was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. A memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday July 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev Edgar DeJesus. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. He is survived by one daughter, Vanessa Rigsbee Wrenn of Henderson; four sons, Alvis Adrian Rigsbee III (Angela), of Durham, William Vance Rigsbee of Franklinton, Russell Dean Rigsbee of Louisburg, and James Darin James of Henderson; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wallace McFarland, Edward Rigsbee, Tommy Rigsbee and Larry Rigsbee and three great grandchildren
