HENDERSON- Lucinda Ann Batten Woodall, 83, of Anne Street, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born December 7, 1941 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Melba Thompson Batten and Joseph Elbert Batten. Ann retired from the Granville County School System where she was a teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church Henderson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Henderson by Dr. Ronald S. Cava. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Ann is survived by her husband, Charles Raymond Woodall, Jr. of the home; her son, Joseph Elbert “Bert” Woodall and wife, Lesley of Durham; her daughter, Sarah W. Pate and husband, Ricky of Smithfield; three grandchildren, Caleb Joseph, Ella Elizabeth and Madalyn Jade; her sister-in-law, Betty Jane “B.J.” Woodall of Selma; and two nephews, John Woodall of Smithfield and Paul Woodall of Selma.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Maggie Adaline Woodall; her infant sister, Peggy Jo Batten; and her brother-in-law, Tommy Woodall.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the home and prior to the service on Monday in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
