Annie Maude Elliott

HENDERSON-Annie Maude Norwood Elliott, age 89, a resident of 560 Coopers Grove Road, died Friday, August 12, 2011, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on July 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew Norwood and Mary Lonie Proctor Norwood.
Mrs. Elliott was a homemaker and a former floral designer with many local florist.She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher for forty years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Island Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Marshall Neathery and the Rev. Pam Gilliam.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Isabelle Elliott Brown, spouse John Roger Brown and Nancy Rebecca Elliott Lamy both of Greensboro; one son, Lawrence Thomas Elliott, spouse Betty Lynette Ranes Elliott of Henderson; daughter-in-law, Janette Loraine Edwards Elliott of Henderson; two sisters, Sallie Reid Norwood Wynn of Henderson and Ruth Gertrude Norwood Coleman of Gum Springs, VA; one brother, George Herbert Norwood of Williamsboro; grandchildren, Mary Lynne Nance, Michelle Danielle Lamy Pierce, spouse James Edward Pierce, Jr., Nicole Norwood Lamy Baring spouse Bruce Donald Baring, Paula Janette Elliott Johnson, spouse Roger William Johnson, Jr., Jenny Marie Elliott Evans, spouse Sidney Allen Evans, Jr.; and great grandchildren, Kiyi Shiann Herron, Alexandria Brooke Pierce, Elizabeth Benton Pierce, Lariston Scott Pierce, Elliott West Baring, Bryn Elise Baring, Renee Danielle Elliott Baldwin, Brian Thomas Elliott, Melissa Paige Elliott,William Andrew Johnson, Benjamin Allen Johnson, Janie Marie Evans, and LaramaeElizabeth Evans.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Elliott; one son, William Morris Elliott; and one grandson, Paul Thomas Elliott; her sisters, Florence Lee Norwood Neathery, Mary Frances Norwood Neathery; and her brothers, Lewis Taylor Norwood and James Scott Norwood.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Lawrence and Betty Elliott at 1111 Satterwhite Point Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Charles Wyche, Jimmy Blanks, Mike Coghill, Butch Spain, Patrick Bailey, and Marvin Ross.Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Jimmy Elliott, Gene Norwood, Danny Norwood, Tony Norwood, Houston Cash, and Jerry Wynn.
