HENDERSON-Annie Currin Owens, age 90, a former resident of 537 S. Cooper Drive, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Universal Health Care in Oxford.Born in Vance County on May 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Tom Currin and Mattie Roberson Currin, and was the widow of Lonnie Franklin Owens.She was a retired seamstress at Southern Quilters and was a member of South Henderson Church Of God, and was the last member of the Senior Ladies Adult Class.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at South Henderson Church of God by the Rev. Gary Harper and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Owens of Henderson; two sons, Vincent Owens of Henderson and Robert Owens of Wake Forest; one brother, Tommy Currin of Cobourg, Ontario, Canada; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mildren Owens; one son, Daylon Owens; and seven brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Tammy Williams, 165 Country Acers Road, off Old County Home Road..
Serving as active pall bearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Jeremy Owens, Robin Owens, Daniel Owens, T. J. Williams, Marty Owens, and Steve Owens.
