HENDERSON-Arthur Preston Roberson, age 75, a resident of 3725 Old County Home Road, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, at his home.Born on January 16, 1941 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Joseph Junious Roberson and Belle Woodward Roberson.For ten years he was the owner and operator of Preston’s Grill
and later was employed as a security guard for twenty years.Preston attended Grace Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Calvin Mills and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Goins Roberson of the home; two sons, Terry Preston Roberson and Tony Allen Roberson and wife, Tracy of Henderson; one brother, Kenneth Roberson of Louisburg; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Boggs, Hannah Roberson, and Joanna Roberson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home on Old County Home Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Teddy Goins, Larry Goins, Ernest Robinson, Tony Ranes, Danny Wilkerson and Dennis Grissom.
