Mrs. Moss was a retired bookkeeper for Roses Stores, Inc. and was a charter member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church, a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class, and sang in the church choir until she was 90 years old.
A memorial service will be held Monday February 18, 2019 at 2 pm at Raleigh Road Baptist Church by the Rev. John Gupton and the Rev. Brett Marlowe.A private burial will be held by the family at Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Moss O’Brien of Henderson; one son, William Paul Moss (Dee) of Henderson; her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Moss of Lancaster, SC; seven grandchildren, Sheri Jones (Jeff), Will Moss, Troy A. Moss (Amy), Emily M. Parrish (Anthony), Christian Sinclair, Jennifer Killough (Greg), and Lauren Griffin (Kevin);nine great grandchildren, Lyndsey Jones, Kaitlyn Jones, Dillon Parrish, Hilary Moss Crowe (Wil), Claire Moss, Kinley Killough, Connor Killough, Brixton Griffin, and Caleb Payne; two sisters, Mattie W. Edwards of Epsom and Frances W. Warnom of Hampton, Virginia; and one brother, Frank Wilder of Henderson.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Newcomb Moss; and her son-in-law, Walter Patrick O’Brien.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Raleigh Road Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Linda O’Brien, 7866 Hicksboro Road, Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Raleigh Road Baptist Church, 3892 Raleigh Road, Henderson, NC27537.
