Ava Bowes Slater

HENDERSON- Ava Joy Bowes Slater, 65, of Henderson died Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Maria Parham Health. Born February 20, 1958, in Vance County she was the daughter of the late Loretta Jensen Bowes and Fred Avon Bowes and was the widow of Michael Edward Slater. She retired from Revlon where she worked as an accounts clerk in the Accounts Receivables Department. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Wayne Clark. She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Smith of Raleigh and Wendy Morales of Henderson; and one sister, Susan Bowes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Freddy Bowes. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at J.M. White Funeral Home.
