CHAPEL HILL-Bate Toms Crudup, 65, a resident of 6205 Farrington Road, died Saturday, December 3, 2011, at his home.Born in Vance County on April 20, 1946, he was the son of the late John Boddie Crudup, Sr. and Jane Toms Crudup.Bate attended Henderson High School and graduated from Virginia Episcopal High School.He attended the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from St. Andrews College in Laurinburg.He was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Donald A. Lowrey.
He is survived by one brother, John Boddie Crudup, Jr. and wife Laura Leslie Crudup of Wilson; one nephew, Dr. John Boddie Crudup, III of Charlottesville, VA; and many devoted friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday immediately following the graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery.
