HENDERSON-Beulah Elliott Pegram, age 77, a resident of 489 Daniel Harris Road, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, in a local nursing home.Born on June 2, 1936 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Benjamin Elliott and Gracie Faucette Elliott.
She was the former owner and operator of Grannys Cokesbury Nursery and Playschool.
She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and the Ladies Class.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at Cokesbury United Methodist Church by the Rev. Julia Alliger and the Rev. Matt Evans.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband William Haywood Pegram of the home; two sons Jessie Ray Pegram and wife, Kay of Henderson, Allen Haywood Pegram and fiance, Marie of Greenville, NC; three grandsons, Jason Pegram and wife, Katie, Adam Pegram and wife, Allison, and Mike Hodges; and two great grandchildren, Cole Robert Pegram and Savannah Grace Pegram.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Elliott and John Elliott.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 489 Daniel Harris Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Bill Atkinson, Robert Glover, Jr., Jeff Pendergrass, Mike Coghill, David Harris, and Andy Garrett.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church childrens ministries, c/o Ruth Moss, 1705 Allison Cooper Road, Henderson, NC27537.
