Becky Williamson Lockemy

Rebecca Williamson “Becky” Lockemy, 81, a resident of Bane Avenue, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Duke Medical Center. Born on February 17, 1942 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Ollie Gray Williamson and Frederica Yancey Williamson, and was the widow of Bobby Lockemy. Becky was a lifetime member of Island Creek Baptist Church where she was a former church clerk, serving for over 35 years. She was a former employee of McCracken Oil Company in Henderson and retired from Little River Oil Company in Louisburg. Becky enjoyed playing Bingo and going to her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events and was known as “Granny” to all that she met. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Island Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnny Yount. Entombment will follow at Sunset Gardens. She is survived by one daughter, Norie Lockemy Watkins (Ronnie) of Henderson; two granddaughters, Lindsy Dethmers (Chris) and Whitney Currin (Rusty); five great grandchildren, Becca Dethmers (Dennis), Jillian Haith, Brent Haith, Isabella Dethmers (Chris Hayes), and Austin Dethmers; and one great-great granddaughter, Brenley Boone. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Webb and Jackie Jones. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall at Island Creek Baptist Church. At other times they will be at her home at 1607 Bane Avenue. Serving as pall bearers will be Austin Dethmers, Brent Haith, Dennis Boone, Chris Hayes, Johnny Killian, and Will Alston.
