WARRENTON-Benjamin Woodrow Granger, Jr., age 71, a resident of 150 Parktown Road, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Durham.Born on November 11, 1939 in Warren County, he was the son of the late Benjamin W. Granger, Sr., and Lucy Paschall Granger.
Mr. Granger was a veteran of the United States Navy.He was formerly employed for many years at 7-11 Shell Station and was the owner and operator of Grangers Lawn Care.He was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he was a former adult Sunday school teacher.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at Unity Baptist Church by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Aycock Granger of the home; three daughters, Kathy Murray of Henderson and Debbie Pendergrass Fowler and husband, Kenny of Henderson; and Michelle Jackson and husband, Dan of Washington State; one sister, Ann G. Bynum of Durham; two brothers, Charles Buster Granger and John Mack Granger both of Henderson; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Granger and one brother, Doug Granger.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 150 Parktown Road in the Afton Community.
