KITTRELL-Benjamin Linwood Pulley, age 82, a resident of 120 Smith Street, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at his home.Born in Vance County on March 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Melvin Burley Pulley and Mary Lee Hight Pulley.Linwood was a former Superintendent with the former George W. Kane Construction Company and H.G. Reynolds. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Henry Abbott and Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Vicki P. Collins and husband, Kemp, of Henderson; two sons, Gary A. Pulley and wife, Linda of Oxford and Robert B. Benny Pulley and wife, Jane of Henderson; one sister, Josephine P. Moss of Kittrell; six grandchildren, Kevin Collins, Patrick Collins and wife, Tara, Justin Pulley, Jason Pulley and wife, Jessica, Ben Pulley, and Ginger P. Glover and husband, Clint; two great grandchildren, Kira and Landen; and his special friend, Beulah T. Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Estes Pulley; one son, Donald Wayne Duck Pulley; one brother, Louis Elmo Pulley; and one sister, Marie P. Jones.
The family will receive friends at the home at 120 Smith Street in Kittrell.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Kevin Collins, Patrick Collins, Justin Pulley, Jason Pulley, Ben Pulley, Danny Pulley, Glen Moss, and Al Strickland.
