HENDERSON-Bernard Kynod Brummitt, 80, a resident of 2466 Bobbitt Road, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at his home. Born in Vance County on November 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Talton Brummitt and Doris Blackley Brummitt.Mr. Brummitt was retired from Roses Stores, Inc. and was a member of Gray Rock United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 11:00 am at Gray Rock United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kay Johnson.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by one nephew, Sidney Brummitt of Gastonia; three cousins, Janet Denton of Knightdale, Ron Hight of Hickory, and Jean Evans of Kittrell.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Reis Brummitt of Durham.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am prior to the service on Tuesday at Gray Rock United Methodist Church.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Joe Billy Hicks, Tyson Bragg, Joe Bishop, Sidney Brummitt, Dickie Harris, and Joe Harris
