HENDERSON-Bess Bridgers Mitchell, 95, of Henderson, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at her home.Born on September 9, 1923 in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Francis Bridgers and Charlotte Mary Walters Bridgers, and was the widow of Levy Wright Mitchell.
Bess was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the co-owner of Carolina Electric Service, Inc.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Goldsboro.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Mitchell Young (Buddy) and Faye Mitchell Stewardson of Henderson; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Delmus Bridgers of Goldsboro; and one sister, Ann Bridgers Taylor of Princeton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Bob Stewardson.
The family will receive friends at the home of Faye Stewardson at 104 Country Club Drive.
