Bessie Faucette Anstead, age 87, a former resident of 105 Carrie Dunn Road, died Thursday, June 09, 2011, at Warren Hills Nursing Home in Warrenton. Bornon October 5, 1923 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Tas Edward Faucette and Lottie Harris Faucette, and was the widow of George Anstead, Sr.
Mrs. Anstead was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a minister since 1952.She was a member of the South Hill Church of God.She served asa minister at Trinity Fire Baptist Ministries in Wake Forest, the Youngsville Church Of The Living God, two churches in Richmond, Virginia, and one in Capital Heights, Maryland for twenty years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charlie Chappell, the Rev. Buddy Faucette and the Rev. Dale Daniels.Burial will follow in the Falls Community Cemetery in Wake Forest.
She is survived by one brother, Willard Buddy Faucette of Henderson; three sisters, Hazel Dorsey of Warrenton, Helen Nance of Albemarle, and Dorothy King of Halifax; three step-daughters, Peggy McLaurin of Plantation, FL, Bonnie Anstead of Raleigh, and Sandra Anstead of Jamestown, NC; and two step-sons, George Anstead, Jr. of Apex, and Ronnie Anstead of Henderson; and five step-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Emmett Dunlow, Jr; one brother, Edward Faucette; and four sisters, Mary King, Ethel Overby, Elaine Allen, and Edith McCorquodale.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at J. M. White Funeral Home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Joseph Currin, Lynn Clary, Brian Daniel, Richard Newman, and Clarence Wagner.
