HENDERSON-Bessie Mae Wrenn Newman, age80, a resident of 61 Renn Lane, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at her home. Born in Franklin County on December 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William Wrenn and Inez Hill Wrenn, and was the widow of Harold C. Newman.She was a retired employee of CVS.Mrs. Newman formerly attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Freedom Life Church Of God by the Rev. Jeff Prewer.Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn S. Roberson of Henderson, and Debra Lynn Hearn of Nokesville, Virginia; two sons, Walter Clemon Smith, Jr. of Disputanta, Virginia, and Michael K. Smith, Sr. of Stafford, Virginia; two sisters, Betty Reed of Louisburg, and Judy Jenks of Wake Forest; one brother, Billy Wrenn of Henderson; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Pitchford and Linda M. Lassiter; and two grandchildren, Larry Thomas T Bird Roberson, Jr. and Brian Keith Lassiter.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 61 Renn Lane in the Epsom Community.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Charles Orr, Zack Orr, Jacob Orr, Lane Orr, Clint Orr, Michael Smith, Jr., Clay Smith, JohnPitchford, Jr., Stanley Lassiter, and Troy Smith.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
