OXFORD-Betty Haley Adcock, 87, a former resident of Pine Ridge Road, died Tuesday, December 01, 2020, in a local nursing home.Born on August 14, 1933 in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Patrick Haley and Annie Lee Elliott Haley Wright and was the widow of James Wesley Adcock.Betty was retired from Americal and was of the Baptist faith.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by Gray Clayton.
She is survived by one daughter, Josephine A. Clayton and husband, Steve of Oxford; one son, James Wesley Adcock, Jr. and wife, Linda of Henderson; two sisters, Dolphine Adcock of Oxford and Virginia Cox of Milford, Virginia; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her step-father, Roy James Wright; four sisters and three brothers.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Glover, Steven Clayton, Brian Clayton, Dwayne Hester, Scott Ranes, Tyler Wright, John Glover, Christopher Ranes, Taylor Tuck, Austin Guerrant and Jason Hester.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Watkins Volunteer Fire Department, C/O Virginia Parrott, 1380 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
