HENDERSON- Mrs. Betty Davis Boyd, age 90, a resident of 130 White Oak Dr, died Thursday, October 06, 2016 at Duke University Hospital.Born July 16, 1926 in Buncombe County she was the daughter of the late Bascombe Davis and Eva Mundy Davis.She was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church in Asheville.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Asheville.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Shelia Pernell Almand of Henderson, William Michael Pernell and Johnny Crawford Pernell both of Mechanicsville, VA; a brother, Bascombe M. Davis of Asheville; five great grandchildren and three great great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rufus Boyd; two daughters, Patricia Ann Boyd and Linda Faye Boyd; four sisters and two brothers.
