Betty Wortham Dayoan

OXFORD-Betty Wortham Dayoan, 81, a resident of 5584 Farmington Drive, died Monday, November 21, 2016, at Granville Medical Center.Born in Vance County on April 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Samuel Wortham and Annie Mae Nash Wortham.Betty was a retired employee of the former Carolina Telephone & Telegraph Co. and was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wes Garner.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Allen Dayoan of the home; one son, Darrell Glenn Dayoan of Manasas, VA; one granddaughter, Delaney Michelle Dayoan; one sister, Molly W. Roberson of Henderson; and two brothers, William Graham Bill Wortham and wife, Bessie, and Marvin Thomas "Bud" Wortham and wife, Carolyn of Henderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Wortham; and one sister, Jane Twisdale.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 until 11 am at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home in Oxford.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Danny Hunt, Billy Wortham, Keith Pegram, Andy Wortham, Bobby Green, and John Norris.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to West Oxford Baptist Church, PO Box 458, Oxford, NC 27565.
