HENDERSON- Betty Staunton Gill, 89,former resident of Tower Road, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Born in Vance County on September 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William Hal Staunton and Annie Belle Preddy Staunton, and was the widow of Virgil C. Gill.She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, at 3:00 PMin the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Greene, Jr..Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn G. Satterwhite (Steve) and Wendy G. Adcock, both of Henderson; two sons, Gary C. Gill, Sr. (Faye)and Dennis R. Gill, Sr. (Robin) both of Henderson; nine grandchildren, Tracy Satterwhite, Christy Waddell (Jimmy), Tammy Juntunen, (Jon),Gary C. Gill, Jr. (Angela), Amanda G. Burnette (Zach), Christina Gill, Dennis Gill, Jr., Brittany Adcock, and Travis Adcock; Nineteen great grandchildren; andeight great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service from 1:00- 3:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Steve and Marilyn Satterwhite at 2150 S. Cokesbury Road, Henderson, NC27537.
Serving as pall bearers will be Jon Juntunen, Lucas Juntunen, Justyn B. Pendergrass, Jimmy Waddell, Jr., Michael Limer, Jessie R. Pegram, Preston S. Gill, and Jamie Griffin.
Arrangements are by J.M. White Funeral Home.
