Betty Jean Davis Gupton

HENDERSON-Betty Jean Davis Gupton, age 76, a resident of 1514 Glover Street, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Duke University Medical Center.Born in Vance County on October 23, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ollie G. Davis and Mae Mullins Davis.Betty Jean was a retired Time Clerk from Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc. and was a cashier at Dabney Drive Restaurant.
She was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Ladies Bible Class.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Mark Richardson and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Donna Bayne Gupton of Kittrell; one step-grandchild, Nicki Elliott Null of Henderson; and two step great grandchildren, Amber and Autumn Null of Hendeson.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Thomas Gupton, Sr.; two sons, Harvey Thomas Tommy Gupton, Jr. and Richard Keith Gupton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Donna Gupton at 2295 Egypt Mountain Road, Kittrell.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Daniel Ayscue, Harvey Harris, Jr., James Pendergrass, Ronnie Lassiter, Brad Abbott, Andy Roberson, James Roberson, and Harold Ranes.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the Ladies Bible Class.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
