Betty Parrish Newman

Mrs. Betty Parrish Newman, age 75, a resident of 79 Brookhaven Place, died Tuesday March 1, 2016 at her home.Born on June 5, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Roy Parrish and Meda Faulkner Parrish.She was a former merchant at the Raleigh Road Flea Market.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church by Rev. Ricky Easter. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Newman Faucette (Gary Freshour) of the home and Terry Lynne Boyd (Bill Ellington) of Henderson; a son, Alan Keith Newman, Sr. (Janet McGonagle) of Bracey, VA; six grandchildren, Justin Allen Faucette, Alan Keith Newman, Jr., Crystal Dawn Boyd, April Lynne Boyd, Thomas Westley Boyd, and Ashley Nicole Boyd; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Franklin (Melvin) and Susan Norwood (William) all of Henderson; and a brother, Lee Roy Parrish (Doris) of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John William J.W. Newman.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Herbie Brame, Joey Fuqua, Chris Winn, Mike Nicholas, Claude Parrish and Alan Keith Newman, Jr.
