Betty Jane Wilson Rainey, age 83, a resident of 3412 Cameron Drive, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at her home.Born in Vance County on November 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late RaymondH. Wilson and Zula Hunt Wilson.Mrs. Rainey was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church by the Rev. George D. Speake.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, John Allen Rainey of the home; two daughters, Pat Frazier and husband Tommy, and Rebecca Aycock and husband Kirby, of Henderson; two sons, Mike Rainey and wife Anora, and Ray Rainey and wife Jan, of Henderson; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Rainey Bowman and husband Justin, Katherine Rainey Anderson and husband Greg, Elizabeth Frazier Wilson and husband Daniel, Matt Frazier and wife Melissa, Bryan Rainey, Ashton Rainey, Amelia Aycock, Kelsey Aycock, and Rebekah Aycock; and five great grandchildren, Jackson Anderson, Wesley Anderson, John Wilson, Thomas Wilson, and Olivia Frazier.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Bobbie Jean Rainey; and one brother Raymond H. Red Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the home at 3412 Cameron Drive.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jimmy Cordell, Rudolph Hunt, Bryan Rainey, Ashton Rainey, Matt Frazier, Ed White, and David Carver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Triangle Aphasia Project, Wake Med Rehab, 3000 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27610, First United Methodist Church, 114 Church Street, Henderson, NC 27536, or to a charity of ones choice.
