Betty Bailey Watson

HENDERSON- Betty Bailey Watson, 83, a resident of Garden Walk Dr., passed away Sunday April 19, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Harkers Island. Born November 26, 1942 in Nash County she was the daughter of the late Jasper Bailey, Sr. and Goldie Earp Bailey.

She was a member of Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was an adult Sunday School teacher and was the president of the Women’s Ministries, both for many years as well as singing with the Praise Team.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Dwight Jones and Rev. Vernon Potter. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Betty is survived by one son, Jeffrey Watson (Dawn) of Henderson; two daughters, Becky W. Earp (Jimmy) of Fremont and Susan W. Gill of Harkers Island; five grandchildren, Payne Watson (Ashleigh), Noah Watson, Josh Earp, Jason Earp, and Kaitlyn Gill; and a brother, Gilbert Bailey of Castalia and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Lloyd Watson, and a brother, Jasper Bailey, Jr.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Noah Watson, Payne Watson, Ray Patrick, Mike Patrick, Chucky Ramsey, Mark Brame and Larry Brame. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lester, Ricky Walker, Jason Earp and Josh Earp.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday beginning at 1:00 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home.
