HENDERSON- Billie Owen Cottrell, 79, of Abbott Road, died Monday, March 9, 2020 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehab.Born in Vance County on March 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lofton Owen and Emma Johnson Owen.She is a Veteran of the US Army and was retired from Belk Department Store, and was a member of Gillburg United Methodist Church.A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Tim Burgess.
Mrs. Cottrell is survived by her daughter, Leslie Roberson Moore and husband, Max of Henderson; two sons, Anthony Wayne Roberson and wife, Stephanie and Scott Roberson, both of Henderson; her sister, Nancy Bell and husband, J.C. of Henderson; her brother, Ricky Owen and wife, Judy of Henderson; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 514 Abbott Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5171 Glenwood Ave Ste 101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
