WillieGray "Billy" Hunt, Jr, age 70, a resident of 1736 Ruin Creek Rd., died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Maria Parham Hospital.
Born on November 11, 1943 in San Bernardino, California, he was the son of the late Willie Gray Hunt Sr. and the late Essie Pegram Hunt. He was a retired Project Manager for the former Sprint Communications Company, served as a Chief Warrant Officer for the U.S. Army National Guard for 31 years, and was a member of Brookston Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Elder.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at Brookston Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Julia Alliger and the Rev. Emmanuel Pegram. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Claudia Roberson Hunt of Henderson; two sons, Kenneth Gray Hunt and Russell Yelton both of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Juanita Hunt Williamson of Henderson; one grandson, Andrew Duffee and wife Julie; one great-granddaughter, Luna Rose Duffee; one niece, Nikki Dickerson, and husband Scott; one nephew, Chris Williamson; and seven great nieces and nephews, T.J., Logan, Montana, Dakota, Christen Gail, Kristen, and Kodi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Hunt.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jimmy Hale, Louis Dail, J.C. Harton, Stan Faulkner, Randy Ball, Tony Sanford, Bruce Stainback, Johnnie Ausborn, Durwood Pegram, Danny Robinson, Tim Robinson, C.T. Roberson, Michael Hunt, Dennis Ausborn, Frank Leatherman, and Allen Hayes.

Billy loved being generous and taking care of his family and friends, and will truly be missed by all.
