HENDERSON-Billy Earl White, 84, a resident of 104 West Hills Drive, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Maria Parham Health.Born in Vance County on June 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Ed Gardner White and Blanche Thompson White. Billy was a member of the 1953 graduating class of the former Henderson High School.For a number of years, he and his brother, Ed operated Whites Realty and Investment, Inc,.Billy finished his working years operating Whites Utility Buildings.
He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church of which he served as a Trustee, and attended regularly until his health failed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by Dr. Donald A. Perkinson and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rebecca Beckham White of the home; one sister, Marion White Bennett of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Edwin T. White; sisters, Goldie W. Ayscue, Dorothy W. Hoyle, and Mary W. Thompson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Bobby Choplin, Frank Tippett, Wayne Adcock, Billy Overton, Mike Rouceville, Tommy Mustian, Larry Forehand, and Danny Stevenson.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Bob Catherwood, Steve Moss, Hal OGeary, Thomas Buddy West, Joey West, Jamie Elliott, Tom Hilliard, Jack Roberson, Bobby Jackson, Jesse Meachum, Tommy Blanks, Darrell Hill, and Larry Daeke.
