HENDERSON-Bobby Furman Parrish, age 69, a resident of 5802 Hicksboro Road, died Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Durham VA Hospital.Born on December 29, 1942 in Vance County, he was the son of the late William Herbert Parrish, Sr. and Vernell Edwards Parrish.Bobby was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.He retired from Sprint in 1992 where he worked for 26years, and attended South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Graveside services will be held today, September 2, 2012, in the Guill-Overby Family Cemetery by the Rev. Bobby Hoyle and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Overby Parrish of the home; three sons, Patrick Michael Parrish and wife, Samantha, Anthony Edward Parrish, and Brian Christopher Parrish and wife, Megan all of Henderson; one sister, Betty Parrish Hedgepeth of Henderson; his grandchildren, Kyle Parrish, Dylan Parrish, Julia Parrish, Koty Parrish, Meana Parrish, Caleb Parrish, Chase Parrish, Kalei Parrish, Greyson Parrish, and Maggie Parrish; and his caregiver, Rita Hipkins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Herbert W. H.Parrrish, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the home at 5802 Hicksboro Road.
