OXFORD-Bobby Ray Cole, age 68, a resident of 301 Saddletree Rd, died Saturday February 22, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 24, 1951 in Granville County, he was the son of the late Allen Lewis Cole, Sr. and Rosa Lee Puckett Cole. Bobby was retired with 35 years of service from J. P. Taylor Tobacco Company and Universal Leaf Tobacco Company where he was Vice President and General Manager.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church, 4404 Fairport Rd., Kittrell NC 27544, by the Rev. Johnny Yount and Rev. Bruce Brooks. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Fleming Cole; one son, Bradley Todd Cole (Patsy) of
Kittrell; two daughters, Angela Cole Smith (Gene) of Oxford and Lori Cole Freiburger (Mark) of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Bradley Hunter Cole, Jonathon Mark Cole, Abby Elizabeth Cole, Andrew Cole Smith, Matthew Austin Smith, Christopher Luke Smith, Cara Addison Freiburger, Adam Nicholas Freiburger and Lauren Elise Freiburger; five sisters, Mildred Cole Jackson of Kittrell, Elaine Cole Hilliard of Henderson, Judy Cole Milton of Franklinton, Anne Cole Kittrell of Goldsboro, and Joyce Cole Ball of Dallas TX; two brothers James Emmitt Cole, Sr. of Kittrell and Dennis Eugene Cole of Yanceyville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Lee Cole, Mary Frances Cole Jones, and Shirley Cole Faulkner; two brothers Charles William Cole and Allen Lewis Cole, Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 12:30 until 2:00 PM. At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be, Todd Cole, Cole Smith, Austin Smith, Hunter Cole, Jonathon Cole, Adam Freiburger, Luke Smith, Gene Smith, Mark Freiburger, Dennis Cole, Billy Fleming and Joel Harris.
