Brenda Hudson Journigan

HENDERSON- Brenda Hudson Journigan, 81, of Alexander Ave. died Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her home. Born in Vance County on May 23, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Raymond Hudson and Iola Joyner Hudson and the widow of the late Perry Journigan. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and their Women’s Ministry. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Salvation Army Church at 12:00 PM by Capt. Joshua Keaton. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Smith (Tony) of Henderson; her son, Mickey Sorrell (Kim Ellison) of Tennessee; her sister, Peggy Hudson; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tina Smith; and three brothers, Jackie Hudson, Eugene Hudson and Ben Hudson. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Salvation Army Church from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday. Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rusty Sorrell, Buckey Sorrell, Dalton Sorrell, Capt. Jason Smith, T.J. Smith, Dustin Smith, Patrick Mustian and Robert Larch. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Church, 2292 Ross Mill Rd, Henderson, NC 27537.
