WARRENTON-Bruce Allen Champion, age 72, a resident of Warren Hills Personal Care and Nursing Facilities, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on December 13, 1938 in Warren County, he was the son of the late Med Champion and Mattie Champion Champion.He was retired from Coble Dairy.
A private burial will be held by the family.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Vernell Geary Champion of Kittrell; two sons, Bruce Allen Champion, Jr. and Larry W. Champion both of Henderson; one daughter, Tammy C. Loughlin of Kittrell; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday at the home of Vernell Champion at 428 Briggs Road in Kittrell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 475 J.P. Taylor Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
