WISE-Bryant Willis Jones, age 80, a resident of 122 Clary Road, Norlina, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015.Born in Halifax County, he was the son of the late Herbert Earl Jones and Mamie Marks Jones.He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War.He was a retired owner and operator of Norlina Enterprises.Bryant was a former Assistant Fire Chief for the Hawtree Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Norlina Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel byRev. Jonathon Shattuck and Gary Paynter.Burial with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah Beam and husband Tim of McMinnville, OR, Katherine Cheryl Owen and husband Jim of Elkton, OR and Robin Zearfoss and husband Karl of Coosbay, OR; a sister, Margaret Coghill and husband A.C. of Henderson; a brother, Marvin Jones and wife Edie of Virginia Beach; and his fiancee, Doris Marks of the home; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Donna Godfrey, his deceased wife, Evelyn Taylor Jones; three brothers, Ben Marks, Sr, Earl Jones, Jr. and Milton Jones.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at J.M. White Funeral Home from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM on Friday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hawtree Volunteer Firemen.
