HENDERSON- Loyd Calvin Davis, Sr., 72, of Country Acres Road, died Saturday, October 03, 2020 at Maria Parham Health.Born in Greene County on April 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Donald Conway Davis, Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Barfield Davis Williams.He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Revlon.He was a member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed tinkering with old fast cars.A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Mann.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Geneva Johnson Davis of the home; a daughter, Beth Ashley (Mike) of Henderson, a son, Loyd Calvin Davis, Jr. (Ellie) of Henderson; a step daughter, Annette Duncan (William) of Henderson; two sisters, Kaye Williamson of Henderson and Carolyn Critcher (Robert) of Henderson; two brothers, Johnny Williams (Loretta) of Henderson and Elvin "Bud" Williams, Jr. (Joanne) of Henderson; four granddaughters, Jasmine, Lillian, Whitney (Joshua), and Hailey; four grandsons, Trey, Dannon, Dustin, and John; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elvin Williard Williams, Sr.; a brother, Butch Davis and a sister, Judy Twisdale.
The family requests that anyone attending the service on Friday wear a mask and practice social distancing.
