Calvin Coolidge "Butch" Riley, Jr., a resident of Carey Chapel Road, died Friday, August 20, 2021, at his home.Born in Vance County on July 5, 1944, he was the son of the late Calvin Coolidge Riley, Sr. and Mozelle Grissom Riley Hale and was the widower of Judith "Judy" Stegall Riley.
Calvin proudly served in the United States Navy, was owner and operator of Quality Insulation for 36 years, and was a former member of the Henderson Moose Lodge.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Michael Grant.Burial with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Riley Edwards of Henderson; his son, Anthony Lee "Tony" Riley, Sr. (Doris) of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Tiffani Wilson, Tiffany Edwards, Dylan Edwards, Anthony Lee "A.J." Riley, Jr., Hannah Edwards, Joshua Edwards, and Chancey Riley; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Deloris R. O’Geary (Kenneth) of Henderson.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy R. Matthews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Dylan Edwards, A. J. Riley, Joshua Edwards, Hunter Creech, Chris Wright and Donald Roberson.
