Carl David Beckham

Carl David "C. D." Beckham, age 91, a former resident of Edwards Road, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in a local nursing home.Born on September 30, 1923 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Walter McDuffie Beckham and Norma Grissom Beckham.Mr. Beckham retired from Roses Stores, Inc. and was a tobacco farmer.He was a lifetime member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 am at Union Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joe Precht.
He loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Iris Beckham Roberts and infant Roxie Mae Beckham; and six brothers, Joseph M. Beckham, W. Ronald Beckham, Theldred T. Beckham Sr., Brooks B. Beckham, Marion D. Beckham and infant Harvey A. Beckham; three nieces and three nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 am in the Fellowship Hall at Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
