Carl "C.G." Graham Williams, Jr.

HENDERSON-Carl Graham (C.G.) Williams, Jr. 89, passed away on June 5, 2019. Born on November 17, 1929 in Henderson, he was the son of the late Carl Graham Williams, Sr. and Annie Ayscue Williams. He attended Henderson High School, where he played baseball, football and basketball, and attended Richmond Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Richmond, Va.
C.G. worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Henderson, Aflac Insurance Company, Frozen Coke Inc. and was co-owner of S & W Sign Company of Henderson. He was active in many civic and volunteer activities including President of the Henderson Jaycees, President of Vance County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman Vance County Cancer Drive, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a midget football coach and served on the board of Frozen Coke Inc. He was an avid golfer, winning 5 Henderson Country Club Championships.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 3:00 PM at The Church of The Holy Innocents.
C.G. was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn Seifert Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Huson and husband, Rick of New Bern; son Graham Williams and wife, Sara, of Garden City,S.C., a grandson, Matthew Fair and wife Lindsay of Saunderstown, R.I.; two great-granddaughters, Willa and Taylor Fair; a sister, Sylvia Ann Walker of Whiteville; a brother-in-law Donald Seifert and wife, Betsy of Henderson; step granddaughter, Kimberly Zorch and husband Rob of Richmond, VA; step grandson, Mark Huson of Portland, OR; a niece and five nephews.
The family will receive visitors at the home.
