HENDERSON-Carlston Hardy Harris, Sr., age 70, a resident of 2127 Warrenton Road, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at his home.Born in Vance County on July 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Hardy Harris and Loreena Huff Harris.Carlston served in the North Carolina National Guard and was a retired mechanic at Laurens Glass Co. where he worked for over 40 years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Marshall Neathery.Burial will follow in the Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye Hale Harris of Henderson; one daughter, Angela R. Satterwhite and husband, Bill of Henderson; one son, Carlston H. Harris, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Louisburg; one sister, Jeanette H. Hamilton of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Taylor Michelle Harris, Carlston H. Tripp Harris, III, Kayla Neleine Satterwhite, Mattison Rose Satterwhite, and Lucas Hale Satterwhite; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Hale and wife, Gail of Henderson.
The family will receive friends at the home at 2127 Warrenton Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Teddie Whitley, Chad Wright, Wade Bliss, C. Eddie Ellington, Willard Smith, Larry Wright, Ronald Bennett and Eddie Ellington.
