HENDERSON- Carlton Kendall Aycock, 89, of Franklin Lane, died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Maria Parham Hospital. Born in Franklin County on October 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Stella Ayscue Aycock and William Edgar Aycock and was the widower of Lucy Joan Robertson Aycock. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War on board the USS Helena which was the flagship of the United States 7th Fleet. He retired from Mt. Hope Finishing Company where he was a foreman. He was a lifelong member of Liberty Christian Church where funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Caroline Allen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Aycock is survived by his daughter, Connie Aycock Morse of Graham; his son, Kirby Wayne Aycock and wife, Rebecca of Henderson; four grandchildren, Samuel G. Morse and wife Karen, Amelia Jane Aycock, Kelsey Ann Aycock and Rebekah Jo Aycock; two great grandchildren, Jack Ferrell and Ada Joanne Morse; his brother, Daniel “Dan” Aycock and wife, Gloria of Durham; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Wayne Aycock. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Liberty Christian Church. Serving as pall bearers will be Mike Ayscue, Mark Ayscue, Shane Ayscue, Ray Allen, Thomas “Buster” Whitfield, and Jimmy Barrier.
