MIDDLEBURG- Charles Jackson Edwards, 91, of Jacksontown Road, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Duke University Medical Center. Born May 20, 1931 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Emma Lou Jackson Edwards and Charlie Roosevelt Edwards. He was retired from Americal where he worked as a mechanic. As a lifelong member, Charles was the oldest living member of Middleburg Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. He was also a member of Bucks Only Gun Club. He loved his family and church, enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing a huge garden annually. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Jamie Parker at Middleburg Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Middleburg Cemetery. Charles is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Jane Elizabeth Mustian Edwards of the home; two daughters, Pamela E. Motto and husband, Vincent of Henderson and Bonnie E. Wiggins and husband, William of Middleburg; five grandchildren, Lee Wiggins and wife Jenny, Chuck Wiggins and wife Mary Frances, Brad Wiggins and wife Marrell, Bonnie M. Ayscue and husband, B.J. and Joey Motto; seven great grandchildren, Landyn Wiggins, Gracie Wiggins, Paisley Wiggins, Parker Wiggins, Taylor Wiggins, Emma Ayscue and Henry Ayscue; his sister, Lou Zene Aycock; three brothers, Bruce Edwards, Kenneth Edwards and Franklin Edwards; and many nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Wiggins, Chuck Wiggins, Brad Wiggins, B.J. Ayscue, Jimmy Faulkner and Jeremy Johnson. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church and at other times at the home of Bonnie and William Wiggins, 1015 Flemingtown Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
