Charles Ernest Ellis, Sr., age 82, a resident of 526 Vincent Hoyle Road, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at his home.Born in Vance County on June 29, 1936, he was the son of the late James A. Ellis and Lila Parham Ellis, and was the widower of Virginia West Ellis.Charles was a retired electrician at Clayton Mobile Homes.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Donald A. Perkinson.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by one daughter, Kay Ellis Correia of Henderson; two sons, Timothy Wayne Ellis and Brian Kirk Ellis of Henderson; one brother, Lester Ellis of Louisburg; one sister, Kathy Gayle Barrett of Ricon, Georgia; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Ernest Ellis, Jr. and Michael Lynn Ellis; one grandchild; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:50 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at his home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Lawrence Harris, Dave Lee, Bobby West, James Donald Ellis, Mike Ellis and Wade West.
