Charles Edward Lawrence, 79, a resident of King Street, died Monday, October 17, 2022. Born on February 19, 1943 in Wilson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Glen Dolen Lawrence and Bell Hughes Lawrence, and was the widower of Gwen Roberson Lawrence. Charles was formerly employed at Clayton Homes, and was a member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. George Williams. He is survived by one daughter, Michelle L. Watkins (Sammy) of Henderson; one son, Bert Lawrence (Tammy) of Henderson; six grandchildren, Michael Overton (Lindsey), Sam Watkins, Kelly Ayscue (Rocky), Malarie Edwards, Taylor Gray (Dean), and Kyle Lawrence (Sally); 11 great grandchildren, Cameron Glover, Aubrie Ayscue, R. J. Ayscue, Skyler Edwards, Madison Overton, Alyssa Overton, Jayce Overton, Lilly Overton, Ava Overton, Lawson Gray, and Addison Lawrence; one brother, Dolen Lawrence (Brenda); and one sister, Dianne Mustian (Charles). In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Lawrence; and one sister, Jo Duhe. The family will receive friends on Friday following the service at Sunset Gardens.
