HENDERSON-Charles Furman Parrish, age 77, a resident of 1045 Eastern Blvd. died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his home.Born on February 13, 1939 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Lemmie Eugene Parrish and Leslie Gupton Parrish.
Furman was a retired electrician and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be heldSunday at 2 pm at Sunset Gardens bythe Rev. Aubrey Florence.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kittrell Parrish of the home; one son, Furman Eugene Parrish and wife, Gidget of Oxford; three sisters, Shirley Ross, and Barbara Jean Edwards both of Henderson, and Bert Stainback of Winston-Salem; three brothers, Jerry Parrish, Sr., Thurston Parrish, and J. H. Parrish all of Henderson; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, eight brothers, four step-children; and two grandchildren.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Chuck Parrish, Jerry Parrish, Jr., Robert Roberson, Wayne Roberson, Doug Tuck, and Al Bolton.
The family will receive friends at the home and immediately following the service at Sunset Gardens.
