Charles Glenn Parrott, age 76, a resident of 1380 Horseshoe Bend Road, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Franklin Manor in Youngsville. Born on October 5, 1938 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Ulysses Jones Parrott and Hazel White Parrott. He was a retired Vice President of the former J. P. Taylor Co., Inc., and was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a pilot for over 41 years and spent many a Sunday afternoon flying his Beechcraft Sundowner. He enjoyed sharing his love of flying with the younger generation and was recognized for providing over 100 flights to kids through the EAA Young Eagles Program.
Family graveside services will be held prior to a memorial service on Friday at 2 pm at Flat Rock United Methodist Church by the Rev. Cathy Hoyle.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Jennie" Wade Parrott of the home; two daughters,
Jennifer Parrott Credle and husband Eric of Durham and Cheryl Lee Bona and husband, Jim of Knightdale; four grandchildren, Nicholas Credle, Matthew Credle, Tyler Bona, and Callie Bona; two brothers, U. J. Parrott, Jr. of Henderson, and Robert Parrott of Fuquay-Varina. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jere Parrott.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home and following the service in the Fellowship Hall of Flat Rock United Methodist Church. At other times they will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Watkins Volunteer Fire Department, 1590 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, NC 27537 or to Flat Rock United Methodist Church, c/o Jimmy Dixon, 334 Daniel Boone Trail, Henderson, NC27537.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
