HENDERSON-Charles Gary "Snake" Smith, age 67, a resident of 7080 NC39 Hwy. S, died Monday, July 4, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.Born on February 23, 1949 in Vance County, he was the son of Richard Gary Smith of Henderson and the late Rebecca Dickerson Smith.Charles was retired from M. R. Williams where he worked for 36 years.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his father, Richard Gary Smith of Henderson; two sisters, Teresa Harris (Tony) of Henderson and Sandra Keith (Tommy) of Creedmoor; and one brother, Danny Smith (Karen) of Henderson; two nieces, two nephews; four great nieces and two great nephews.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Clark Smith.
The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 2 until 3 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of his father at 7070 NC 39 Hwy. South,
