Charlie Calvin Allgood, Sr., age 73, a resident of 128 Beech Cove, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at his home.Born in Granville County on June 10, 1941, he was the son of the late Lucious Allgood and Gracie Renn Allgood.He was a retired mechanic from Ball Incom.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jason Byler.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Louise Davis Allgood of the home; one son, Charles Calvin Chuck Allgood, Jr. and wife Donna of Youngsville; one step-daughter, Connie Wood and husband Ervin of Spring Hope; one sister, Frances A. Morris of South Hill; one brother, Jimmy Allgood and wife, Shirley of Henderson; three half-sisters, Joan Rainey, Judy Orr, and AnnJones of Henderson; one half brother, Eddie Allgood of Henderson; one grandson; nine step grandchildren; and eight step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death byhis first wife, Lettie Louise Inscoe Allgood; and one daughter, Leslie Luann Allgood.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home .
Serving as active pall bearers will be Glenn Wheeler, Alex Stevens, Adrian Stevens, Danny Wood, Donnie Wood, and Gaither Anderson.
