KITTRELL-Christine Fenner Gupton Ayscue, age 85, a former resident of 1613 Rocky Ford Road, died Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Louisburg.Born in Vance County on February 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Brodie Thomas Gupton and Rena Edwards Gupton and was the widow of Thomas Henderson Ayscue.
She was formerly employed with Big Star and was retired from Supply Line Country Market.Christine was a former member of White Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Pray and Share Ministry and served as church treasurer for several years, and was a current member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery.
She is survived by four daughters, Dianne Ayscue Luce of Decatur, GA, Gail Ayscue Campbell and husband, Michael of Roanoke Rapids, Joette Ayscue Short and husband, Andy of Rocky Ford, and Cynthia Kay Ayscue of Raleigh; one son, Larry Thomas Ayscue and wife, Gail of Goose Creek, SC; two sisters, Shirley Gupton Scott and Brenda Gupton Rogers of Charlotte; two brothers, Edwin Gupton and Frank Gupton of Valdosta, GA; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Gupton and two grandchildren, Kevin Thomas Ayscue and Christopher Joseph Toler.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Joette Ayscue Short at 1613 Rocky Ford Road, Kittrell, NC.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Ashley Short, Neal Campbell, Justin Toler, Chad Short, Blaine Short, Noah Short, Anthony Allen, and Jonathan Ayscue.
